Wards one and two each have 14 beds, providing assessment and treatment for older people suffering from acute mental problems such as depression, anxiety and bi-polar disorder, along with dementia and other confused states, often with high levels of aggression.

    Our report following a visit to West Abbey Care Home, Yeovil, which is a large modern home accommodating 90 residents. It provides both residential and nursing care.

    Our report following a visit to The Firs Nursing Home, situated on the outskirts of Taunton. It can accommodate up to 40 residents and there were 38 residents living here at the time of visit.

  47. How connected are you?

    We identified there was a need to find out from local people how connected they feel and why. We also sought to find out how being connected affects feelings of loneliness and isolation.

  48. Bridgwater Parent Support Group

    Report -

    Members of this support group run by the Parent Carer Forum shared their concerns and experiences with us. Many of the group had common issues with assessments and having their needs met at GP surgeries.
